Lightning Quick Choir!
Last night’s rehearsal really brought home to me how far the Total Voice Contemporary Choir has come in its two year life. We started working on “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and the choir picked it up very quickly. Within fifteen minutes, we were on our feet singing most of the song (okay, we postponed the slightly tricky four-part conclusion) with confidence and joy.
We have such fun arranging songs for the choir, but it’s even more fun to hear the choir singing our arrangements. There’s something about massed voices that can turn even the simplest song into something stirring and uplifting. There’s also the fact that when I record all the parts myself for the practice tracks on the website, I sound like the Bee Gees!
